News Flash: my blog is moving!

What's in a name?  Well...only everything!

When I began blogging many moons ago, this blog was simply a place for me to showcase my work.  Nothing more, nothing less.  But since then, I have grown up (only a little), learnt a lot, had another baby, moved across the country, sprouted some grey hairs...and changed my goal posts in relation to beading.

I'm beginning to sell my work (exciting!), fill custom orders (humbling!), enter competitions (scary!), write tutorials (time-consuming!), aim for publication (eep!), etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum...

I have been contemplating the change for some time, and now the time is right for a number of reasons.  The main reason being that I have had numerous people complain that they cannot access my Bead Fetish blog because of the word 'fetish' in the URL.  Having lived under my stay-at-home-mum rock for the last few years, I didn't realise that 'fetish' was such a unsavoury word.  My bad!  So it must go.  The time has come for me to step away from the Bead Fetish banner and get serious.

So, what to call my new blog and business...?

After brain-storming with myself and getting nowhere fast, I asked my ever-supportive and brilliant husband, Anthony, for his opinion.  He said, 'Why don't you just use your own name.'  Bingo!  So that is what I am doing.  Belinda Saville.  Nothing fancy.  Nothing cute and kitschy.  But it's me, and it's real.

As I don't want to lose all of you, my dear readers and supporters, I am giving you this forewarning so you can still follow me in cyber space!

In one week's time, that is Monday 21 March, I will be moving my blog to:

Unfortunately, when I change my blog URL you will not automatically be following me.  So each and every one of you will need to find me at after Monday 21 March and hit the pretty 'Follow' button again.  Yes I knoooow, it is such a bother!  But I don't plan on changing my name anytime soon, so this URL is sticking ;-)

I will keep Bead Fetish simply as a link to my new blog, but I plan on exporting every Bead Fetish post over to the new blog.  Unless, of course, the whole import/export blog thingamajig doesn't work, in which case I will be curled up in the foetal position on the floor, intermittently sucking my thumb and howling like a baby.  Just kidding ;-)  It WILL work and I will NOT lose all of my precious blog posts! *prays to the Blogger Gods*

It will be the same old me, I promise.  Just a better and beadier me! ;-)

Thank you for all your support over the last few years!  I can't express in words how much your kind words and encouragement mean to me.  I wouldn't be where I am without you!

I look forward to continuing this journey with you down the yellow bead road...wherever it may lead us :-)

Hi Belinda, you know I will be there. I love your new banner. Did you make it? Anthony is right. Use your name so people know who you are. I have you moved marked on my notbook.

Thanks Nicole, I know I can always count on you ;-) I'm glad you like the banner! I've been playing around with different effects on Photoshop, and was happy with the way this one turned out. Lots of work, but lots of fun too :-) B. -xo-

Hi Belinda,

I'm a lurker (which just sounds awful now you've brought up the fetish thing!) but wanted to say how excited I am about your taking the next step with your work. Your pieces are gorgeous and your blog always puts a smile on my face - I'm sure you will be a smashing success! Looking forward to seeing how you go over on the new blog. Good luck and go for it!

Kirsty, thanks so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment :-) Don't worry about the lurking thing...I'm guilty of it too! Usually because I have a baby under one arm and a toddler hanging off my leg, so all I can manage is to click and scroll...typing is impossible! LOL ;-) Thanks for the gorgeous words, I can't wait to see you over at my new blog!
